The purification treatment process of liquid aluminum alloy with graphite rotor is the main means to improve the comprehensive performance of aluminum alloy. In the purification treatment process, the method of mixing the purified gas with the solvent and using the rotation of the graphite rotor to blow it into the aluminum melt for purification treatment is currently the most advanced treatment method in the world. The working principle of the graphite rotor is as follows: The rotating rotor breaks the nitrogen (or argon) blown into the aluminum melt into a large number of diffuse bubbles and disperses them in the molten metal. Bubbles in the melt absorb hydrogen in the melt and adsorb oxide inclusions by the principle of gas partial pressure difference and surface adsorption. They are carried out of the melt surface as the bubbles rise, thus purifying the melt. Due to the fine and dispersed bubbles, they are evenly mixed with the rotating melt and slowly rise in a spiral shape as they rotate. They have a long contact time with the melt and do not form a continuous straight upward airflow, thereby removing harmful hydrogen from the aluminum melt and significantly improving the purification effect.
Graphite rotor
The graphite rotor operates continuously in an aluminum melt at around 750°C at a rotational speed of 200 r/min to 400 r/min. Our company’s graphite rotors are made of high-purity graphite. The quality of the graphite itself has a significant impact on the service life of the rotor. Meanwhile, an anti-oxidation protective coating is applied to the surface, which can extend the service life to 50 to 60 days.
